The Christmas bazaar

It was crowded inside the Swedish church where the bazaar was held.

The bread flavoured with wort were quite popular.

There was a lot of different lotteries and
I only bought a couple of breads, some buns and
homemade Christmas caramels.
Christmas glögg was served when you walked into the church...and
there was an orchestra of 4 musicians playing
Christmas songs in the vestibule.

On the way back home I went into the perfume shop and
bought Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv cream.
I got a lot of testers for free.

I got ( from left):
Capture Total Nutrition for the face.
Boucheron perfume.
Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv cream.
Dsquared2 wood perfume.
Three Givenchy Absolutely Irresistible testers.
Chanel Precision tan cream for the face.

Little Italy

We were so tired when we got home from the shopping last night.
I had only been sleeping about 4 hours the night before when we had to get up so early.
We decided to go out and have a dinner at "Little Italy" and it turned out to be very delicious.
Little Italy has got many restaurants here on Tenerife but this one is located on the left side, close to Linares, when you walk down from the City square toward the beach here in Los Cristianos.

First you get a starter of
bread, aioli & mojo sauces and gourmet olives.

Me.
By the way I bought the ring on my finger a couple of days ago.

This is what I had.
It's fillet steak with Jack Daniels and Jamaica sauce
and mashed potatoes.

Clas had Plank steak with bearnaise sauce and
gratinated mashed potatoes.

The shopping tour

It was a really nice day yesterday and we bought a lot of stuff.
I will show you a couple of things that I bought.

The best thing of the day for me was this Nokia telephone.
It's really in my style and I can say I've really fallen in love with it.
It has got among other things a Mp3 player, Photo and Video camera,
radio, MSM, USB and Bluetooth.
I like the color and the style of it. It's very small, thin and light.

I also bought a new hairdryer.
It started coming out smoke from the old one and
Clas told me to not use it anymore.

Ikea proved to be a great disappointment.
The Christmas ornaments there were in my opinion not beautiful and
I only bought these two golden hearts.

I like the American style of ornaments that is more antique looking, but the most of the stuff at Ikea looked like the designers have had a lack of creativity.
I think it's typical Scandinavian, which fits the image of the shop, but don't fit me!
I can just feel the "jantelaw" coming creeping when I look at it.
The style is simple and straight without any flourishes to be more on the safe side of not being too much.
It was white and blue and gray light bulbs without any gold and glitter that would bring a cold winter atmosphere to your home and the interior in the shop didn't give any Christmas feelings at all.
They didn't have any "Julglögg" or traditional salted Christmas hams either.
A couple of Christmas trees were however quite nice.

Oh, I wish I had possibility to go to Florida for Christmas ornament shopping.
There you find so much nice stuff that you can't buy it all.
Now our decorations will be delayed and I have to run out on town as soon as possible and look for something.
The Swedish Church is arranging a Christmas bazaar today and I will also go there and see what they have got.
More about that later when I have been there.

Our day off

Clas rented a car yesterday and we are going to Alcampo and Ikea for shopping today.
It will be so fun! I hope to find a lot of stuff!
We need more Christmas ornaments, Swedish Christmas food, clothes, a new phone to me, a real big flowerpot for the balcony etc. And Clas always buy a lot of electronic stuff.

We have to get up early in the morning.
I will put the alarm on 8 o'clock and it will be very hard for us to wake up.

Buy the way, we got a nice surprise last night when we came to the restaurant.
There was a beautiful Christmas tree standing beside the stage.
Now we plan to be prepared with our Christmas songs when we get back on Saturday.
We have only got four songs when some of the tourists don't like to hear Christmas songs.
But a small problem has now occurred when we have forgot the lyrics and I have to find the song sheets so that we can start doing the rehearsal...

When Clas last year happily asked the audience if they like to hear a couple of Christmas songs he got a negative answer. We were so surprised!
It was only a few people who like to hear them.
One lady told us to not play Christmas songs while she was in the restaurant when her husband had died the Christmas before.

What can we do? We have decided to have our four songs if somebody like to hear them.
It would be a shame to have to say we haven't got any Christmas songs. Wouldn't it?
But it seams like many come to Tenerife in the Christmas time to just try to forget the Christmas.

Barbecue Night

The barbecue night we had yesterday was really lovely.
I still feel excited and have to cool down to get the sleep in my eyes.
It seams like these nights will turn out to be the best ones of the whole week.

We had only Scandinavian guests this time and we spoke Swedish between the songs and played country dance music the whole night through.
The guests were dancing and it was a nice party atmosphere.

I already look forward to next Wednesday!
If you like to join the party I recommend you to book a table to be sure you get in.
It was so crowded tonight out on the terrace.
And next week we start getting promotion about the venue from the Scandinavian Tour guides that work here on the south part of the island.
We heard from some guests last night that Apollo already has started doing PR and that's nice!

There are not many places here on Tenerife, where you can dance in the Scandinavian style anymore + have a grillparty, and we like everybody to hear about our venue.
Please, spread the word to everybody you know!
It would be nice if this venue would become so popular that we have to arrange it 2-3 times a week to give everybody possibility to take part of it.

The barbecue is served 7-9 pm and we play country dance music 9-12.
The price is 12Euros/ person and for that price you can eat as much as you like.
It's beef, chicken, pork and sausages...Canary potatoes with mojo sauces, barbecue sauce and 5 different salads and bread and grilled corns etc. It's really nice!
Remeber to bring a jacket or sweater when we eat out on the terrace.
To book a table, please, call: 922- 753818.

If you stay in Los Cristianos or Las Americas you'll get the taxi up to Oasis Mango for free by showing the taxi receipt when you pay the barbecue meal out on the terrace.
We play inside and when you move in after the dinner you start a new bill.

Please, click on the arrow to watch the video clip from last night.

Family visitations

I am busy cleaning the house for Christmas.
My youngest son Daniel will come and see us as soon as we find a good flight ticket for him.
He lives in Umeå Sweden.
He will arrive after some days and he's going to stay for 2-3 weeks.
Oh how fun it's gonna be!

Then when he leaves my sister Carola and her husband come to Tenerife for two weeks.
I haven't seen her for many years and we really look forward to see them.

Have a nice evening!

Dinner @ Oasis Mango

Clas and me tonight at Oasis Mango.
We eat the dinner there every night.
He,he! I know we both look like we need to go to the toilet and...!

This is what we had tonight.
Chicken with pepper sauce, mashed potatoes, salad,
grilled corn, fried root vegetables.
Very nice!

To the hairdresser

I didn't get any time to blog today because I went to see my hairdresser in Las Americas directly after I woke up.
He made light and red highlights in my hair and cut it and in the end he put big rolls in it and made it curly.

My hairdresser James and his assistant Laura.

Me with heated rolls and James behind.

It was very curly when he took out the rolls.

Cold,Cold, Cold

The Hooters-girls today.

It's very cold here on Tenerife now. Only + 21 and a lot of clouds.
But it's not raining and we can be happy for that.
The temperature in the night is about 17-18 degrees.

We have been out to Hooters again today, for a lunch, and now I'm so cold that I have to go and lay down under the covering in the bed.
We have bought a nice fluffy covering from Ikea and when you lay down under it you become warm after a while. Clas is already laying under it...
We can't use it in the summer time but now it starts getting colder and we put it into the bed yesterday.

By the way, we are planning to rent a car Friday and go up to Ikea and Alcampo for Christmas shopping. I like to buy some more ornaments for the balcony if we can find something we like.

We will start decorating the balcony next week because it has to be ready the first of Advent.
We both look forward to get up the decorations when it makes our balcony so cozy.
But it's a hard work before when I have to clean everything. Even the walls!
But I'm just happy! We are lucky when we can have Christmas ornaments!

The people in the neighbor house are not allowed to have any when the electricity in their house is so weak that it just makes the fuses go.
Their house was very dark last year and there wasn't a single light ornament and they live in the dark the most of the nights.
If it's because they are tight or if it's because of the fuses we don't know but I couldn't make it to live in the dark.
Imagine if a cockroach walks into the apartment and they don't see it!
I would be so scared!

They can however see our ornaments well and I think it will be a blessing to them if we can make it really nice this year.

Many apartments here on Tenerife have got a weak electricity and some people can't use the hair dryer in the same time as the TV is on when it makes the whole apartment go black.
It's the same when they use the washing machine. Then they can't put on any other electricity items like the coffee maker, the teapot or the iron etc.
Something to think about when you like to buy or rent an apartment on Tenerife.

I will show you some photos later when we get the balcony decorated.

Hooters-Clas.

(It doesn't work yet to upload video clips on Blogger.)

Possitiv Way Of Thinking

Yesterday I got a mail from a friend of mine up in Finland.
It was about a positive way of thinking, and I really got like a revelation and felt I need to change my mind and become more thankful and positive to everything I have got.
Even the bad things are good things if you just can look at them in the right way!
Oh, I think I have been such a selfish and egoistic person! From now on I will try to be satisfied with all the "must do's" because I haven't got the right to complain about anything!
I will share some of the words with you.

Be happy when:

-you have to clean the apartment after been having a big party!
It means you have got a lot of friends when there are many who are alone.

-you have to pay taxes!
It means you have got a work while many are unemployed.

-your clothes get too tight!
It mean you have got food on the table while many starve.

-you have to cut the lawn and clean the windows!
It means you have got a home while there are many homeless.

-you have to listen to people who complain about the politicians!
It means there is a liberty of statement.

-you get a high electricity bill!
It means you have got heating while many are cold.

-you have got a lady singing out of pitch in the row behind you in the church!
It means you can hear while some are deaf.

-you have got a lot of clothes to iron!
It means you have got a lot of clothes while some walk around in rags.

-the alarm wake you up in the morning!
It means you are alive while many have died.

-etc.

Wouldn't it be nice to always see things in such a positive way?
I would like to do that!

Oasis Mango 22.11.2008

We had a lot of guests last night even when many of the Scandinavians, that have visited us the last weeks, have to leave the island early this morning to go back home.
The audience last night was about 70% Scandinavians and the rest English.
It was specially many Norwegians and when they love to dance it was crowded on the dance floor.

We are so happy when many of the guests who have been visiting us the last years here on Tenerife have found us in our new place.
People keep telling us every night how they have been asking around to figure out where we are.

Many guests also have the dinner at Oasis Mango and when we arrive in the nights there are already a lot of guests sitting there eating.
Oasis Mango has got nice meals and the prices are normal. Not the cheapest but not expensive either.

If you stay in Los Cristianos or in Las Americas you can go by taxi to Oasis mango for free.
You just ask for the taxi receipt and when you pay your dinner you show it to the waiter and the the taxi-price will be reduced from the bill.
People have already started doing it and it works nice.

Please, click on the arrow to watch the video clip.

Our night off

He,he! I will tell you what happened tonight.
We went to La Costa for dinner.
When we got in there I felt everything wasn't right.
I said I wonder if this is the right restaurant because there were no decorations on the walls and it looked like a garage with a few tables. All the staff was also sitting out on the porch and we were the only guests.
You know, La Costa is a quite famous restaurant an I expected it to be crowded and thought there would be at least candles on the tables.

Clas was sure we are at the La Costa restaurant and we sat down and got the menus.
I started reading mine and thought something was wrong when there wasn't any tapas at all.
I popped the question again but Clas said we are at the right restaurant.

When the waiter came to take the order Clas asked if the restaurant is called La Costa and we were told that La Costa is the neighbor restaurant.
Then we stood up and told we are in the wrong place and after a couple of excuses we left the restaurant. Oh, what a shame!

When we got out we figured out the La Costa restaurant was closed. They also have their day off Fridays!
Then we decided to visit an other restaurant instead that is called Piccolo.

Piccolo has become quite popular among some of our friends the last weeks and we decided to give it a try when we haven't been there before.
Here some photos from our night.

The Piccolo restaurant is Italian.

Waiting for the starter.

Clas.

We ordered marinated mussels as a starter.

And we both had fillet steak of pork with
mushroom sauce as the main course.
It was a lovely meal.

After the dinner we went to Scandishop.

We had a nice and relaxing night.
Came back home about 1.30.
Now I'll go to bed.
Good Night!

Friday - Our day off

My breakfast today.

We went to Scandicshop today to have the breakfast there.
Fridays are nice days to be there when the weekly Scandinavian newspaper is released and many come to the shop to get their own copy of it.
We stayed there for about three hours today and met many people we know.
Some have been visiting us at Oasis Mango already, but we don't get much time to talk to people in the nights when we only have got two short breaks.

It's cloudy now and we even got a sprinkle of water in the afternoon.
I don't really know what to put on tonight when it's so chilly. I think I'll have to dig deep in the wardrobe.
I walked zig-zag on the way back home but didn't see anything in the shops that I would like to have.

Now we'll have a nap and then we are going out for dinner to a restaurant called La Costa.
We haven't been there before but people say it's a nice place and they have 40 different fresh homemade Tapas on the menu which means we'll go Spanish tonight.

It will be a lot of different dishes and I will take some photos to put up later.
Or maybe I shouldn't? I think some of you blog readers soon will start vomiting when you see all the food we have and it's not nice to make you feel ill.
Quite many have been moaning, telling me they wouldn't like to eat like we do.
I hardly can't understand it when I just see it like an advantage.
I wish everybody could have possibility to have dazzling dinners.

But remember it's only small plates when we eat and the sum total isn't much more than a normal portion. And six nights a week , when we work, we have normal dinners in the restaurant and we drink only plain water.
Many times I also eat only the best pieces on the plates and leave the rest.
The nice thing when you eat out is that you can have a lot of tastes in the same dinner.
Almost like a spice orgy!
It would take an eternity to make so many different dishes at home.

We always think we need to live the life while we still are alive and there is no idea to be tight or moderate or to start thinking in the way of the Scandinavian "jantelaw".
The "jantelaw" is always wrong and we prefer to be free and lucky.
The day you are dead it's too late to start enjoying the life here on the earth and in heaven everything is dazzling! God is not tight but generous! He has got streets made of gold!!!
I think some people will get a shock when they get there and see how dazzling everything is.
They probably will ask themselves why they were so tight and limited on the earth when they could have enjoyed the life.

After the dinner tonight we are going to the shop again to spend the night together with the Scandinavian friends.

My lips

I will show you a couple of pictures how my lips looked last night.
It maybe sounds shocking to hear that I made them swell up, but it's not as dangerous like it sounds and the difference is not so big.
I don't look like the "Cat lady"now!

I think they look like normal today again and if I like to get them more out sticking in the nights I will have to put on the acid every night when I do the make-up.

He,he! I look funny on the photos when I still have got the hair band keeping the hair away from the face. Don't believe that I have cut the hair!

Ironing idea

I have been ironing a lot of clothes today.
I figured out a good system to make the work more fun.
First I sorted out all the pieces and put them in different piles.
I put all the pants in one pile, the skirts in one, the T-skirts in one etc.
Then I started working with the pile I hated most and that means the work is just getting more fun and easy the more I work.

Before I many times made the easy ones first and then I sometimes left the difficult ones, that I hate, until next time when I just became so tired to see them.
Today I made all the clothes and no were left over to next time.

Increasing lip volume

Clas bought the white watch today. It's called Mount Blanc and looks very nice.
The other watch to the left is the one he bought the other day.

Do you know it's now possible to buy "lip volumizing treatment" on bottle in Spain.
I bought it today and tried it.
The lips swell up with about 25 % from normal within 15 minutes!

I am little bit scared of it and will only use it carefully. I don't like to destroy my lips, but it looks nice when they pout out a little bit.

First when you put it on you feel a slight sensation of tingling or burning, but it's only while it's carrying out it's volumizing action.

This treatment doesn't include Botox or Restylane or poison from the Asiatic snake!
It's only the hyaluronic acid in it that acts like "molecular sponges", penetrates in depth in the crease of the lips and capture the moisture that naturally evaporates from the skin.

"Once rehydrated, the spheres are dilated and have a dual action;
in depth, they provide perfect moisturization and have an external pushing action which smooths furrows;
on the surface of the skin the rehydrated spheres fill in imperfections".

"Hyaluronic acid is the widest used molecule for the surgical treatment of lips.
Thanks to it's performance it has even overtaken collagen, which is more suitable as a filler for under eye wrinkles."

You can buy it from the Farmacia and one bottle is 23,60Euros.
Much cheaper than Botox or Restylane that is about 80Euros per shot.
Hopefully it's more healty too.

Barbecue Parties - Wednesdays

Last night we were offered a new restaurant where to play again.
The restaurant is in a good area and have got a big dance floor but we have decided to stay at Oasis Mango and give it a try and said no thanks.
The management at our new restaurant have got a lot of good ideas and we think it will be very interesting to work for them.

Oasis Mango where we are now is a hotel in Los Cristianos.
The restaurant has got a nice interior and nice meals.
Dining guests get the taxi to the restaurant for free by showing the receipt of the taxi when paying the bill of the meal.

Wednesdays we'll have barbecue nights out on the terrace. (Start this week)
They have now bought new tables and chairs so that everybody get room out on the terrace.
The party start at 7 pm when we first eat together. Then we start playing at 9 o'clock like normal.

Many Scandinavians visited us last night and we had a lovely night with a lot of dancing.
John from Holland also teach us a line dance which was appreciated.

We both look forward to be back on stage tonight and we think it will be a lot of dancing again.
Welcome!

Hooters again

We went to Hooters with Mick and Frances today.

Me and Frances.

After the meal we went for a little shopping and I bought these boots.

A short update

Oh, I'm so frustrated!
Something is wrong with the internet and I can't upload any photos right now.
I decided to write the text and if you don't see any pictures they will be uploaded as soon as it works again. Right now it takes an eternity to upload one single photo and when I have been waiting for a long while I get a message saying my publishing has failed.

Yes! I know it looks like we are only eating, shopping and playing on this island!
To be honest, that's our life right now!
We are in a period again when nobody of us have got the go to refill the refrigerator and we have to go out for every meal which takes a lot out of our spare time every day.

We wake up, I put on the make-up, we go out for lunch, we get back home and have a nap, we start preparing for the night and go to work. It's a very boring life!
But there's a good thing with it as well and that is when we get out on town every day.
When we have got something to eat in the refrigerator we stay in the whole day, in the front of the computers, and some days we don't even get to see the sun.
Then we are living like cellar rats.

This is a short photo update of what we did yesterday.

First we went for a breakfast/lunch to the Asian Wok restaurant and then we were strolling around in the town. I think we had a walk of about three kilometers which is not bad.
The most of the shops were closed when it was Sunday, but we found a couple of jewelery shops that were open and Clas bought a new watch that I didn't really like.

Sometimes our tastes are very far apart but we have an agreement that we both can buy whatever we like and the other one just have to respect it and live with the "product".
Clas is not so pity but for me it sometimes really feels like a trial when he starts using something I don't like.
Then I try to survive by acting like "the thing" is not there. I try to not look at it and hope nobody else can see it either. To be honest, it's not easy.

I know the most of the people would say this watch looks nice but I have got a specific taste and when it doesn't fit it doesn't fit.

I'm sorry, but I don't like to show the watch he bought here on the blog even when I know you maybe would like to see it.
It's not too bad and it has got a brown bracelet, but he is going to buy a black one, as soon as he can find one, and maybe I like to show you that one instead.

Our night out

Oh, what a night! It has been so fun!

We went for dinner, with Frances and Mick, to Las Americas.
They knew about a restaurant there, in the Eugenio shopping center,
that has got lovely fillet steaks.
The restaurant is called La Terracita and it's located on the second floor.
If you like fillet steaks I recommend you to go there.

Me, Frances, Clas and Mick.

First we got to taste a lovely cheese and Serrano ham.
Like many times before I forgot the camera and these pieces are
only the left overs. Sorry for that!

The fillet steak was very nice!
It was so tender that it almost melted in the mouth.

As a desert I had chocolate ice-cream.

After the meal we went by taxi to Kippis.
Kippis is a Finnish dance restaurant and we went there to give
our friends a taste of Finland.
It's really like beeing in a pub in Finland to be there.

After that we went over to NR 1.
That's a new opened bar in the patch.
Peter Bruno was playing keyboard and singing there and we
even got to listen to Tom Jones.
After this place we went over to restaurant Los Angeles, but I forgot
to take any photos there.
Now I'll go to bed! Good Night!
